Working Holiday Visas
If you have been bitten by the travel bug but don't have the money (or perhaps the nerve) to set off on a long term adventure a working holiday could be perfect for you. Basically, you will visit another country for a year or two with a temporary work permit so you earn dough as you travel. Sounds amazing right? The only catch is your resident country has to have a reciprical agreement with another and it's generally limited to the 18-30 (ish) population. For my fellow Brits, the participating countries are Australia, New Zealand and Canada. Bunac is a great resource for finding out the specifics of what is required for each different visa. I booked my first working holiday visa with them and although I wouldn't recommend their service, the website covers a lot of the basics to help you make a decision.
New Zealand
Eleven months in to my Australian visa I had the opportunity to travel to New Zealand, and so I began the working holiday visa process all over again and spent a year living in Tauranga and travelling all around the North Island.

Australia
Eighteen months after returning from my Floridian adventure, my itchy feet had still not gone away so I started to search for my next adventure. Fortunately my job at the time was me alone in an office 75% of the time so I spent all of that time looking at travel sites and dreaming. Being short on funds I decided on a working holiday in Australia. The next summer I joined a team flight to Sydney via Hong Kong and so began the adventure down under.
